Jen Garner

Pronouns: She/Her/Hers

With 25 years of experience in the mental health field, I am passionate about helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges and discover their inner resilience. My work is grounded in evidence-based practices, empathy, and a commitment to meeting each client where they are.

I specialize in treating trauma-related issues, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and dissociative identity disorder (DID). In addition, I work with clients managing anxiety, attachment disruptions, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorder (ASD), chronic illness, depression, family interactional patterns, foster & adoption history, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), selective mutism, and sensory processing differences.

My approach is strengths-based, integrative, and client- and family-centered. I draw from a range of therapeutic modalities including dialectical behavior therapy, emotionally-focused therapy, geek-/nerd-therapy, solution-based therapy, trauma-informed care, and mindfulness-based practices through a neurosequential & developmental lens. I frequently use therapeutic play, art, movement, & games when working with clients of all ages.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with diverse populations across clinical and community settings. I have extensive experience supporting members of the Neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ communities. I believe in creating a safe space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered in their healing journey. It’s an honor to support individuals as they work towards greater emotional well-being, self-awareness, and connection.

I provide individual therapy for people aged 3 - 55 years old. I also provide couples & family therapy.

Outside of work, I enjoy creating art, gardening, hanging out with my dog, ice hockey, reading, & spending time in nature!
