Beyond the Book - A therapist led Bibliotherapy Group
Welcome to Beyond the Book - a therapeutic space where community, reflective reading, and mental wellness come together. Led by Andrea Beavers, MS, LPC, this therapy group uses carefully selected books as a springboard for emotional processing, insight-building, and supportive connection with others.
Why a bibliotherapy group? - Books can mirror our internal experiences, challenge long-held beliefs, and help us feel less alone. When paired with the guidance of a licensed therapist, reading becomes a powerful tool for healing, growth, and self-understanding. This group uses therapeutic discussion, structured reflection, and evidence-informed interventions to support your mental wellness journey.
What to expect
Thematic book selection – Each book is chosen around a meaningful mental-health theme such as shame, trauma, relationships, resilience, personal wellness, and emotional regulation.
Therapist-led processing – Sessions include guided discussion, psychoeducational insights, therapeutic prompts, emotional regulation skills and opportunities for group reflection.
A supportive, inclusive environment – All participant experiences are welcomed and respected.
Accessible participation – All meetings are held virtually, making it easy to join from anywhere in Ohio.
